Account Security
At OneRack, your account security is our top priority. While we take industry-standard measures to protect your data, it’s important for you to follow best practices to keep your account safe. Below are some tips and recommendations for securing your account.
Best Practices for Keeping Your Account Secure
- Use a strong, unique password: Choose a password that is at least 12 characters long and includes a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using common phrases, dictionary words, or easily guessable information.
- Protect your email account: Your email is often the gateway to accessing your OneRack account. Ensure your email account has a strong password and two-factor authentication enabled to prevent unauthorized access.
- Beware of phishing scams: Always verify the sender of any email or message asking for your account information. OneRack will never ask for your password via email.
- Log out from shared devices: If you access your account from a shared or public device, always log out when you’re done.
- Monitor your account activity: Regularly check for any suspicious activity on your account. If you notice anything unusual, change your password immediately and contact support.
Use One of Our OAuth Providers
For added security, we encourage you to log in to OneRack using one of our trusted OAuth providers, such as Google. OAuth provides a secure and convenient way to access your account without needing to remember another password. By using OAuth, you also benefit from the advanced security measures implemented by these providers.
What to Do if You Suspect a Security Issue
If you suspect your account has been compromised or notice any unauthorized activity, please take the following steps:
- Change your password immediately.
- Check your email for any unauthorized access or changes.
- Contact our support team at support@onerack.eu for assistance.
By following these best practices and staying vigilant, you can help ensure the safety of your OneRack account and personal data.
